Silver Rings for Wedding Day |

When my father got remarried it was a very happy day. He had been alone for six years since the passing of my mother and he was lonely. He really bounced back well and became quite the cook but still something was missing. My dad liked being part of a couple and having someone by his side. He had joined a bereavement group at the church which lead to a singles group. There he met his future wife.
On their wedding day she wore a lacey grey dress and dad put on a grey suit with a pink tie. They made a nice looking couple. After they shared some simple vows she and my dad exchanged silver rings. The silver rings were very simple bands that represented a new beginning for each of them. She too, had been alone for many years since the passing of her husband.
When my dad and his new wife shopped for the wedding bands it was an easy decision between them. They both agreed on the silver rings without any ado. Having both been married before they really wanted everything to be low key from the silver rings to the ceremony and after party. Even so, it was a touching wedding day. |
